NOMATEN Workshop: Advanced materials for nuclear and other applications under extreme conditions

The visitor must have one of the following documents on the day of entry to the NCBJ premises.

- identity card, or passport, or residence card (permanent or temporary), or military pass, or driving licence or another document with a photograph, allowing identification of a person, e.g. journalist ID card.

Visitors may move around NCBJ premises only when accompanied by an authorized person - the so-called visitor's guardian.

By plane:

Warsaw Chopin Airport (www.lotnisko-chopina.pl)

• Located about 10 kilometers from the city center.
• Most flights to Warsaw land here.
• Public transportation options to the city center:
  • Bus number 175: Runs to the center and around the Old Town (Stare Miasto).
  • Night bus number N32: Runs to the city center.
• Taxi service: Taxi rank in front of the Terminal offers reliable taxi companies like Ele Taxi. Avoid unlicensed taxis in the Arrivals Hall.

Warsaw Modlin Airport (modlinairport.pl)

• Located approximately 35 kilometers northwest of the city.
• Access to the city from the airport:
  • Train: Koleje Mazowieckie trains depart from Modlin railway station, which can be reached by a special airport bus that leaves from the airport terminal at times coordinated with the train timetable. A special airport ticket that costs 19 PLN can be purchased in the airport terminal. Estimated journey time: 1 hour 15 minutes.

 

Stay:

The city center of Warsaw is located on the left side of the river, close to the Palace of Culture a.nd Science https://goo.gl/maps/5rWVWUgYsprLczJk7 (Palace of Culture a.nd Science, plac Defilad 1, 00-110 Warsaw, Poland).

This area is a bustling hub with a wide range of accommodation options, including hotels, hostels, a.nd serviced apartments. Staying in the city center provides convenient access to major attractions a.nd transportation.

The main metro station in the area is Świętokrzyska, which provides excellent connectivity to various parts of the city. From Świętokrzyska station, visitors can easily access other metro lines, trams, a.nd buses to explore different areas of Warsaw.
