The European X-ray Free-Electron Laser (EuXFEL) is one of the world’s largest scientific research infrastructures. The unique research opportunities it offers attract leading scientists from around the globe, enabling them to tackle ambitious scientific challenges. EuXFEL experiments contribute significantly to advances in many fields, including medicine, pharmacology, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, energy research, and electronics, fostering the development of new technologies that impact everyday life.
The workshop “XFEL Applications in Biophysics and Biochemistry” is organized within the framework of a project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, aimed at supporting the development of the Polish XFEL scientific community and enabling full use of the new research opportunities provided by EuXFEL. The event will take place at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw on November 24–25, 2026.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for Polish scientists to present their current and/or planned XFEL-based research.
Participants will also learn about opportunities available through the ministerial program, which provides funding for:
– participation in conferences, workshops, and schools related to XFEL,
– internships at EuXFEL experimental stations,
– preeliminary and complementary experiments.
