The bus tickets can be bought inside the bus/tram paying by card (no additional cost, 50% off for students up to 35 yo) or from one of the apps listed here. If you arrive from Modlin Airport you can buy the tickets for the bus+train here. You could also take a FlixBus for which you can buy the tickets on the bus paying cash (only PLN).
