DESCRIPTION:The aim of this conference is to bring together experts in the
field of THz and IR science to present current and new investigations tha
t utilize the unique and exceptional characteristics of Free Electron Lase
r-based IR/THz sources.\n\nTERFEL conference includes the following topics
:\n\n\n	Free electron laser facilities\n	Photon beamline instrumentation &
diagnostics\n	Other high power THz/IR sources of radiation\n	THz and IR s
pectroscopy of condensed matter\n	THz and IR properties of biological mate
rials\n	Imaging in THz and IR ranges\n	Ultrafast magnetic phenomena\n	Corr
elated and low dimensional systems\n\n\nResearch methods using radiation b
eams generated by Free Electron Lasers have become increasingly important
in recent years. In Europe there are several FEL centers operating in the
 IR/THz spectral range:\n\n\n	TELBE/FELBE HZDR in Dresden-Rossendorf\, Germ
any\n	TeraFERMI at Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste in Italy\n	FLASH at DESY in
Hamburg\, Germany\n	FELIX at Radboud University in Nijmegen\, The Netherl
 ands\n	ENEA-Frascati\, Italy\n	PolFEL at NCBJ in Otwock-Świerk\, Poland (
in the near future)\n	 \n\n\nThese sources of radiation produce intense p
ulses with well-defined photon energy\, which can be tuned continuously ov
er a wide IR/THz spectral range. Such radiation characteristics enable new
types of investigations of the properties of matter\, such as nonlinear s
pectroscopy or time-resolved studies\, which can resolve the dynamics of q
uantum excitations in nanostructures or extremely fast processes occurring
at the molecular level in biomaterials.\n\nThe conference is organized in
close cooperation between NCBJ (National Centre for Nuclear Research) and
WAT (Military University of Technology) Warsaw that are constructing the
Free Electron Laser in Poland (PolFEL) to develop THz science and technolo
gy\, together with CENTERA (IHPP PAS)\, an international laboratory specia
lizing in THz and IR research\, and University of Warsaw\, well-known for
its excellent THz/IR laboratory.\n\nThe TERFEL conference is planned in li
ve-onsite mode with all sanitary requirements regarding COVID-19 EU regula
tions respected.\n\nWe cordially invite you to participate and visit Warsa
 w\, Poland.\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n\n\
