DESCRIPTION:We invite you to the workshop “XFEL applications in Material
  Sciences and Nanotechnology” will take place at the Institute of Physi
 cs\, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw\, on December 5-6\, 2024. During
  the event\, new research opportunities offered by X-ray Free Electron Las
 ers (XFELs) in the field of material sciences will be presented. Special a
 ttention will be paid to scientific capabilities of the the European Free 
 Electron X-ray Laser (EuXFEL)  - one of the world's largest ongoing scien
 tific endeavors. Its cutting-edge research capabilities draw top scientist
 s from across the world\, enabling the pursuit of ambitious scientific cha
 llenges. EuXFEL's experiments significantly advances our understanding acr
 oss various fields\, including medicine\, pharmacology\, chemistry\, mater
 ials science\, nanotechnology\, energy\, and electronics\, fostering the d
 evelopment of new technologies that impact our everyday lives.\n\nThe work
 shop “XFEL applications in Material Sciences and Nanotechnology” is be
 ing organized as a part of a project by the Ministry of Science and Higher
  Education\, supporting the development of the Polish XFEL scientific comm
 unity to fully leverage the new research opportunities offered by the EuXF
 EL.\n\nDuring the workshop\, world-class experts will present examples of 
 XFEL research in the field of: \n\n- materials research at high pressures 
 and temperatures\,\n\n- nanotechnology and \n\n- magnetism. \n\nThe worksh
 op will also provide an opportunity for Polish scientists to present their
  current and/or planned XFEL research (see Call for Abstracts).\n\nIn ad
 dition to insightful scientific presentations\, attendees will be introduc
 ed to the opportunities available through the Ministry Program\, which pro
 vides funding for: \n\n- participation in XFEL related conferences\, works
 hops and schools\, \n\n- internships at EuXFEL experimental stations \n\n-
  performing pilot and complementary experiments.\n\nMoreover\, the event w
 ill feature a presentation on the Network of Centres of Excellence for XFE
 L research in Poland (CD XFEL)\, where this program is being implemented.\
 n\nWe are confident that the workshop will serve as an important step for 
 the participants in preparing high-quality scientific projects and perform
