DESCRIPTION:3rd International Workshop on Machine Learning and Quantum Com
puting Applications in Medicine and Physics\n\n7 to 11 September 2026\, Wa
rsaw\, Poland\n\nWe cordially invite you to the 3rd International Workshop
on Machine Learning and Quantum Computing Applications in Medicine and Ph
ysics\, which will take place in Warsaw (Poland) from 7 to 11 September 20
 26. The workshop is organized by the National Centre for Nuclear Research
in cooperation with scientists from the University of Vienna\, Jagiellonia
n University.\n\nIn the last years\, we have seen an increasing number of
interdisciplinary exchanges\, especially with machine learning methods inv
olved. Many times similar techniques and tools are used to solve a variety
of problems. The transfer of methods between disciplines is highly needed
and it has repeatedly proved to be a very fruitful approach. This worksho
p aims to facilitate such transfers of knowledge by bringing together expe
rts from various institutions and research groups in the fields of medical
imaging\, radiotherapy\, physics\, and computer science. The workshop ser
ves as a platform to enable research at the edge of various disciplines.\n
\nThe scope of the workshop covers among others quantum simulations\, quan
tum algorithms\, and (classical or quantum) machine-learning algorithms wi
th a focus on application in Physics and Medicine.\n\nList of topics:\n\n\
n	machine learning methods in medical applications\,\n	machine learning me
thods in high-energy physics and astrophysics\,\n	quantum machine learning
\,\n	Generate Adversarial Networks for fast simulations both in medicine a
nd particle physics\,\n	quantum simulations\,\n	quantum and quantum-inspir
ed computing algorithms\,\n	novel methods in medical imaging\,\n	High-Perf
ormance Computing (HPC) in physics and medicine\, in particular on heterog
eneous platforms such as FPGA and GPU.\n\n\nFeel free to share this invita
tion with your peers and whoever you think would be interested. Please\, d

DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe workshop is organized as part of the project CLEVER: C
osmology & GaLaxy EVolution In The New ObsErving ProgRammes. Project found
ed by the Strategic Partnership project BPI/PST/2024/1/00019 by NAWA – P
olish National Agency For Academic Exchange.\n\nThe rationale\n\nMachine l
earning and modern statistical methods are becoming central tools in astro
physics and cosmology\, from survey data reduction and photometric redshif
ts to time‑domain discovery\, image classification and parameter inferen
ce. This workshop offers a structured introduction to statistical foundati
ons and machine learning concepts.\n\nThe goal of this workshop is to prov
ide a structured\, beginner‑friendly entry point to machine learning and
advanced statistics in astrophysics\, while progressively reaching more a
dvanced topics. The format will combine morning lectures with afternoon ha
nds‑on sessions in which participants work through concrete astrophysica
l use cases under the guidance of the invited speakers and local tutors.
\n\nThe workshop is aimed at Master’s students\, early‑stage PhD stude
nts and junior researchers from NCBJ\, the University of Warsaw\, and the
CLEVER partner institutions. It will explicitly welcome participants with
limited prior exposure to machine learning\, provided they are comfortable
with basic programming (e.g. Python) and standard statistical concepts. B
y the end of the workshop\, participants should be able to: understand the
main families of machine learning methods used in current astrophysical r
esearch\; critically assess when a machine‑learning approach is appropri
ate\; implement and evaluate simple models on real data\; and recognise co
mmon pitfalls such as overfitting\, data leakage and biased training sets.
\n\nThe invited speakers span a broad range of applications including gala
 xy formation and evolution\, large‑scale surveys\, time‑domain and tra
nsient astronomy\, exoplanets and cosmology.\n\nHosted in Warsaw as part o
f the CLEVER-NAWA partnership\, the workshop will strengthen training and
collaboration across the network by bringing together students\, junior re
searchers\, and invited experts for a hands-on introduction to machine lea
rning and advanced statistics in astrophysics.\n\nInvited speakers: \n\n\

theory is conceptually simple\, its content is extremely rich and after f
ive decades of intense studies some of its features remain mysterious.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:\n	\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n\nThe rationale\n\n\n	\n \n
\n The Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) has now officially begun
at the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile. Following the success
ful completion of commissioning and early operations\, the observatory has
entered its planned 10-year survey\, repeatedly imaging the entire southe
rn sky with the world's largest digital camera. LSST is expected to produc
e an unprecedented time-domain dataset that will transform research on dar
 k matter\, dark energy\, the Solar System\, transient phenomena\, and the
structure of the Milky Way\, while generating millions of real-time astron
omical alerts each night.\n \n \n \n To foster collaboration within
the Polish LSST community and share early scientific and technical experie
nce with LSST data\, a two-day conference will be held on 19–20 October
in Wrocław. The meeting will provide a forum for participants to exchange
their first experiences working with LSST data\, present initial scientif
ic results\, and discuss emerging analysis techniques and challenges. An o
ptional hands-on workshop will follow on Wednesday\, October 21\, offering
participants practical training in accessing\, exploring\, and analyzing
LSST data and introducing the tools and workflows used within the LSST dat
 a system.\n \n \n			 \n \n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n SOC:\n \n \n L
